We all know that – as we are mathematics teachers – the concept of mathematics is far more important that the calculation skill itself. However, as the time is limited for teachers to fit the curriculum into the students’ mind, there is always a concern that how the teachers balance the teaching content between the math concept teaching and the calculation practice – or precisely, how much time should be spent on delivering the concept knowledge, and alternatively how much time is allowed for students to understand the concepts?
